Man in fatal accident at Louisville truck show believed to be trucker, show competitor

Police are investigating the death of a man believed to have been a trucker who entered his truck in the PKY Truck Beauty Contest at the Mid-America Trucking Show at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville.

A spokesman for the Louisville Police Department today said they are investigating the death of an as-yet-unidentified man who is believed to have fallen from his truck while cleaning snow from it Wednesday. An autopsy is planned for Friday.

Other truckers who were in the parking lot where the show trucks were parked said the man, who police said was “middle aged,” either fell while brushing snow off the top of his truck or had some sort of medical problem and fell.

Drivers and others who had assembled their rigs for judging had to remove the record-setting, heavy, wet snow that had fallen Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
