Maverick builds multi-million driver training facility

MFP_9201rMaverick Transportation last week, unveiled a new 13,000-sq.-ft. driver training facility that has multiple classrooms and five training bays. 

The North Little Rock, Ark.-based company invested $4 million into the facility, which is capable of housing 210 driver students at once. 

Maverick says 75 percent of the people that apply for driving positions at the company have no prior experience. It also said it received more than 50,000 applications last year for driving positions. 

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe spoke at the facility’s opening ceremony. 

Maverick is a flatbed company that hauls primarily steel, wood and glass.
