New Frito Lay trailer wrap supports Women in Trucking

WitLast week in Louisville, the Women In Trucking Association went for the Guinness World Record again for the largest gathering of female truck drivers with their second annual Salute to the Women Behind the Wheel. You may recall my reporting on last year’s unsuccessful attempt. This year, the gathering drew 204 professional female drivers (last year, the number was just under 300) on Saturday, April 2, and though that number failed to break the record, the event was a huge success in the eyes of those women who were honored for their achievements.
Also at the show parked prominently outside the convention center was a specially designed WIT trailer in the private fleet of WIT sponsor Frito-Lay, prominent among companies encouraging women to look at careers within the trucking industry. As an extension of its Gold-level partnership, the maker of what might stand as my favorite addition to chili (and some second-favorite ones besides) wrapped a 57-foot Great Dane trailer with a graphic that includes both the WIT and Frito-Lay logos along its sides. Check it out below. Nice, eh?

WIT thought so. “It is so exciting to see our logo on a Frito-Lay trailer,” said WIT President/CEO Ellen Voie. “The exposure to the non-trucking public will let motorists know that there are women in the trucking industry and that corporations such as Frito-Lay support our efforts to encourage any woman to consider a career in this industry.”

And, with no further ado…
