The Peterbilt Model 335 hybrid electric tractor is ideally suited for applications such as beverage and regional-haul deliveries that require a trailer. The Model 335 hybrid electric tractor utilizes Eaton’s Hybrid Electric Power System with an electric motor that assists the PACCAR PX-6 engine with supplemental torque for up to 25-percent fuel-economy gains in local-haul applications, the company says. The system stores energy during stopping through a process called regenerative braking, then reuses it for acceleration. Fuel use, emissions and noise are greatly reduced.

Emergency Warning Strobe Lamp
Truck-Lite’s gas discharge emergency warning strobe lamp uses an inexpensive, cylindrical flash tube. All optics are internal, leaving a smooth, more aerodynamic surface that’s easy to clean and maintain, the company says, and external parts are designed for durability, with circuitry encapsulated.

Unlike older helical flash tubes, the new cylindrical design works with Truck-Lite’s advanced optics to concentrate light within the critical zone (five degrees above and below horizontal) for the greatest effect. The lamp is designed to operate from 10V to 30V, making it suitable for operation with both 12-volt and 24-volt setups. All models have a year warranty on the light.

Tire-Pressure Monitoring System
TireStat from Mobile Awareness, a tire-pressure monitoring system, provides increased fuel economy, enhanced safety, maximized tire casing life and extended tire wear, the company says. The lightweight TireStat sensors are mounted externally on the valve stem, allowing air input without sensor removal. This virtually eliminates limitations previously found to prevent the use of TPMS on fleet vehicles, including costly tire maintenance, time-consuming installations, lost cap-mounted sensors and difficulty in roadside service. TireStat is preprogrammed by wheel position for effortless installation, yet can be easily altered by the user. The system not only detects under-inflated, over-inflated and rapidly leaking tires, it also monitors tire temperature.
