U.S. XPRESS RENAMES SUBSIDIARY

U.S. Xpress Enterprises changed the name of its subsidiary from CSI/Crown to

Xpress Global Systems Inc. CSI/ Crown, Dedicated Xpress Services and Xpress Direct will now be operated under Xpress Global Systems.


ATLAS AGENT WINS AWARD

Security Storage Company Inc. of Goldsboro, N.C., received the Atlas Hauling Excellence Award at the 55th annual Atlas Van Lines convention in Las Vegas.



AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Millis Transfer, of Black River Falls, Wis., recently named 68 drivers as members of the Millis Million Miler Hall of Fame. Drivers Larry Janke and Leroy Parker have more than 3 million safe miles. Six drivers have more than 2 million miles: Alan Chandler, Donald Kamrowski, Richard Thums, Richard Barnes, Rodney Wegner and Thomas Wemmer.


Wisconsin-based deBoer Inc. named Ben Barger of Warner Robbins, Ga., its first Driver of the Year. DeBoer assigned Barger to the newest tractor in its fleet, a 2002 International 9200i.


Contract Freighters Inc. recently named its November 2002 Drivers of the Month. Contractor of the Month was Jim Matthews of Oklahoma City, and Contractor Team of the Month went to Ike and Toni Frye of Cairo, Mo. The following drivers logged 1 million miles: Dalton Carter of Austin, Texas; Jim Baxter of Osceola, Mo.; and Jack Sears of Parsons, Kan.


Maverick Transportation named Gary Lewis of Paragould, Ark. as its 2002 Driver of the Year.


Epes Transport inducted 38 into its Million Mile Safe Driving Club. J.P. Pernell has 4 million safe miles. Rudy Stevens and Vernon Vann have 3 million miles, and Gerald Marshburn and Nellow Wilkins have 2 million.Thirty-three more inductees reached the 1 million mile mark.
