AVERITT DONATES $200,000 TO ST. JUDE
Averitt Express employees donated $200,000 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the 10th annual St. Jude Cancer Survivors Conference this past fall.
Hundreds of survivors attended the event, including Averitt employee and former St. Jude patient Ginger Nichols.
Averitt Cares, the company’s charitable program, has donated more than $1.5 million to St. Jude during the past 20 years, endowing the hospital’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Clinic.
BARR-NUNN RAISES OWNER-OPERATOR PAY
Barr-Nunn Transportation’s $600 Appreciation Bonus for owner-operators, which went into effect this month, will be paid every 60,000 miles.
The company will continue its Fuel Protection Guarantee Program at $1.24 per gallon this year.
PENSKE OPENS NEW JERSEY TERMINAL
Penske Truck Leasing recently opened a new 15,500-square-foot terminal in Bridgeport, N.J., that can serve 650 vehicles on 11 acres.
The $5.2 million facility offers four service bays, a truck washing bay and a two-lane fuel island.
DANNY HERMAN WINS SAFETY AWARDS
Danny Herman Trucking won the first-place Fleet Safety Award in the Under 3 Million Mile Truckload Category from the Tennessee Trucking Association. The company also was awarded the Grand Champion Award for all categories.
