NG1 TechFlo Exhaust is an exhaust system designed to go head-to-head with diesel particulate filters in increasing fuel efficiency in diesel engines.

Dustin Nord, chief technology officer for NG1 said his company guarantees a 10 percent increase in fuel efficiency with their system, while also lowering emissions.

“I’m chasing zero emissions, and we’re doing it mostly through fuel savings,” Nord said. “We work on everything diesel up to Class 8 trucks. We’ve done this through a new theory of fluid dynamics.”

NG1 won the 2014 CleanTech Open with their product, which not only increases fuel efficiency, but also increases torque and power, reduces sound and reduces engine running temperature.

“We’re seeing a return on investment within just three to four months,” Nord said. “We’re doubling fuel efficiency of what other companies can offer for half the price. You give me $2,600 to install this system, and I guarantee $7,000 to $10,000 after the first year of driving the national average of miles.”

Nord added his system has more than 10 million proven miles with an average of 13 to 16 percent increase in fuel efficiency.

One of the first adopters of NG1’s technology was S&J Freight Services, and Nord said the company spend $12,000 to install the systems in the first year, and within the first year-and-a-half, they saved $70,000 in fuel costs.
