Anyone who doubts that trucking television has gotten big just needs to visit the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. TV celebrities, as well as the traditional slate of music stars, are greeting fans all over the show. Most will be here through the show’s last day, Saturday.

The Overdrive editors were able to rub shoulders with some of them Thursday night. We shared some great pizza at Cane Rosso with Marc Springer, Roy Garber and Jennifer Brennan from “Shipping Wars,” thanks to our hosts, the staff from uShip. The show is based on contestants booking loads through uShip, an online freight matching service. The three celebrities have been meeting fans at the uShip booth.

Robb Mariani, host and creator of “American Trucker,” has been meeting fans daily at the eCobra Electronics booth.

Edgar Hansen, deck boss for the Northwestern boat on “The Deadliest Catch,” will be at the Chevron Delo booth today to sign autographs.

William Carlos “L.A. Rookie” Weekley is appearing at the Truck It Smart load matching booth. He is a contestant on “World’s Toughest Trucker,” in which he has hauled loads in the Australian outback and the Himalayas.

Country music stars Ronnie Milsap, Lee Brice, The Lost Trailers and Heidi Newfield are meeting fans at the Red Eye Radio booth throughout the show.

While he’s not here to meet and greet, country great John Anderson is slated for the free concert tonight. His appearance is sponsored by Mobil Delvac.
