Our thank-you card to drivers

In case you haven’t noticed, this is your time of the year to take a bow: National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Sept. 13-19.

Unfortunately, most of the appreciation comes from within the industry. Rude four-wheelers and those who’d like to assign all truck parking to another planet don’t know about the week and, even if they did, would be the last to acknowledge your contributions.

So take anything positive where you can find it. In addition to programs at many fleets, there are appreciation initiatives from truck stop chains, trade groups and others.
