Rici Lowe, the writer behind the just awesome paean to her retired father’s love of the road and the business of trucking — published over the weekend here — plays a role, she says, in a trucking show I thought I’d share a little about with you today. Particularly of interest to those out West, the Idaho Truck Show & Shine in Nampa, Idaho, at the Idaho Center ampitheater, will be held July 13 with a kickoff event the previous night. Following find the event poster as well as a gallery of images from previous years’ event. Some great trucks there from a show that started its life as the United Hauling Truck Show, brainchild of “Rod Ekart, owner of United Hauling Corp., United Metals, LLC and Treasure Valley Pipe,” copy at the show website runs. “His dream of having an annual Truck Show & Shine started in June 2005, with the goal of educating the community to bring a better understanding of the trucking industry.”
