Pilot Flying J opening new Kansas City location

Pilot Flying J is opening a new truck stop location in Kansas City, Mo., early this month.

The new Pilot Travel Center, located off of Missouri Highway 210 near I-435, will feature six diesel lanes with high-speed pumps, public laundry, Western Union and more. Additionally, the new location offers 15 truck parking spaces and two showers.

The store is the company’s 24^th in Missouri. Its physical address is 8801 NE Birmingham Rd., Kansas City, Mo.

After the truck was retired about three years ago, owner Joel Anker had it rebuilt into a show truck. The hard work paid off, with a fifth-place finish in the Limited Mileage -- Bobtail with Miles class at MATS in March.
