Poor weather forecast postpones this weekend’s Bandit Series race

A rainy and cool weekend forecast for Newton, N.C., has prompted Minimizer Bandit Big Rig Series officials to postpone this weekend’s truck race at Hickory Motor Speedway.

The race has been rescheduled for Aug. 11. Anyone who had already purchased tickets for the race will be able to use them on the rescheduled date. Fans who want to see the Bandit Series before August can contact the series to swap the tickets for the May 5 race at Concord Speedway in Concord, N.C.

“This weekend looks like another miserable forecast for us,” said Craig Kruckeberg, series owner and racer. â€śThere’s no doubt it’s disappointing, but we have to consider everyone’s safety. With the weather forecast being what it is, the best move is to postpone the event until August 11.”

With the postponement, the next Bandit Series race will be held Saturday, April 21, at Motor Mile Speedway in Fairlawn, Va. The race action is expected to begin around 7 p.m. The Minimizer Fan Series Truck Show will be held throughout the day, and a Bandit meet and greet will be held from 4-6 p.m.
