More than 6,000 fans were on hand Saturday, April 15 to see Ricky “Rude” Proffitt take the checkered flag at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in the second race of the Bandit Big Rig Series’ inaugural season.
Proffitt, driver of the No. 14 Peterbilt, took home a $10,000 check for his win in Easley, S.C.
“I’m not used to losing,” said Proffitt, who finished eighth in the season’s first event at Hickory Motor Speedway. “I spent three weeks working on my truck and it paid off (Saturday).”
Finishing behind Proffitt were Chris Kikelhan, Robbie Decker, Jon Lisenbee and Travis Burchner. Decker picked up the win in the first race of the season at Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, N.C.
The crowd, which track officials said was one of the largest they have had on a Saturday night, was the second sellout for the Bandit Series in as many races.
The next race is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Ala.
