Shell Rotella SuperRigs set for mid-June at Virginia truck stop

The 36th annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs Truck Beauty Contest has been scheduled for June 14-16 at White’s Travel Center in Raphine, Va. The show is free to attend and open to all ages.

All trucks entered into the contest must be working trucks. For the “Working Truck” category, trucks must have logged a minimum of 85,000 miles annually or 6,250 miles per month over a six-month period. There is also a “Limited Mileage Working Truck” category in which trucks must have actively worked three-to-five days a week for eight or more hours a day. There are also prizes for Best Interior, Best Chrome, Best Theme, Best Engine, Best Lights, People’s Choice and Most Hardworking Trucker.

Contestants will compete for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes. The Best of Show winner earns a $10,000 prize, along with a guaranteed spot in the next Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar. Registration for this year’s contest is not yet open.

Last year’s event, held in Tulsa, Okla., featured a number of custom show trucks, including Bill Rethwisch’s 2016 Peterbilt 389 that took home Best of Show honors. The award earned him a $10,000 prize, along with a spot in the 2018 Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar.
