Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) has again been elected by House Republicans to chair the U.S. House of Representatives’ Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the 115th Congress, which spans from January 2017 through the end of 2018.

The committee is responsible for legislation spanning all modes of transportation, tasked with both public policy related to transportation and the country’s transportation infrastructure. The committee is responsible for oversight of the Executive Branch’s Department of Transportation.

Shuster has chaired the committee since 2014 and oversaw the passage of the FAST Act highway bill last year.
