A small number of International trucks are being recalled due to an issue that could cause damage to the fuel lines, according to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Navistar announced recently it is recalling approximately 19 model year 2018-2019 International HX and LT tractors equipped with Cummins ISX engines and Wabco 37.4 air compressors.

In these models, the air compressor discharge line may contact the fuel lines, and the heat from the air compressor line could damage the fuel lines. Navistar says continued damage to the fuel lines could cause the lines to rupture, resulting in a fuel leak.

Navistar began notifying owners on July 20. Dealers will replace the straight fitting on the air compressor discharge line and the discharge line with a 45-degree fitting and a redesigned discharge line for free.

Owners of affected trucks can contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 with recall number 18511. NHTSA’s recall number is 18V-412.
