Deral Meek, owner of five-truck Rio Rancho, N.M.-based Smithart Trucking, owns this 1962 Peterbilt 350. The rig features a 400-hp Cummins and an Eaton Fuller 10-speed with 4-speed auxiliary. Meek has done a complete rebuild on the truck, which included new paint, a stretched frame, new shocks, air bags, bushings, air conditioning work, power steering work, all new tires and wheels and more. Meek started trucking at the early age of 14 hauling freight interstate, and in 1994 purchased Smithart Trucking from Bob Smithart, who opened the business in 1989. The company mostly hauls heavy equipment such as Caterpillar and Komatsu tractors.
