Ever-tightening environmental regulations, high fuel prices and continuing pressure to improve productivity amid a shifting supply chain will force ever greater changes to equipment over the next 10 years. How truck, trailer and engine makers will deal with those realities will be discussed during the Super Session panel, “Tomorrow’s Trucks and Trailers,” held Thursday, Aug. 26, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Dallas Convention Center.
Moderated by Jack Roberts, executive editor of CCJ, Overdrive and Truckers News magazines, the panel will feature:
• Jeff Jones, vice president, sales and marketing, Cummins, Inc.
• Ben Smith, manager, product strategy, Freightliner Trucks
• Craig Bennett, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Utility Trailer
Each panelist will present an overview of his perspective on how equipment will evolve over the next decade, followed by moderated discussion, including questions from the audience.

Affected tractors are equipped with an automated Eaton UltraShift Plus or Eaton Advantage Transmission with right hand stalk shifter. In the affected trucks, the display on the instrument panel can indicate “N” when the shifter is set into “D” or “R,” causing the truck not to move.
