The fourth nor’easter in less than three weeks to hit the Northeast has prompted several states to issue truck bans on interstates.

Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey have tractor-trailer restrictions in place until the storm passes through the region.

In Pennsylvania, trucks are banned from using the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s east-west main line from Ohio to New Jersey (I-76, I-70/76 and I-276), and the entire Northeastern Extension (I-476).

The New Jersey Department of Transportation has placed a commercial vehicle ban on I-78 and I-80, as well as I-280 and I-287.

Truckers traveling through New York are also restricted from driving on I-87 in both directions between exit 1 (the New York City line) and exit 17 (I-84), as well as I-287 in both direction between exit 1 and exit 12, I-95 in both directions from the NYC line to the Connecticut state line, I-84 between the Pennsylvania state line and the Connecticut line and I-684 in both direction between the Hutchinson River Parkway and I-84.

The storm, named Winter Storm Toby by The Weather Channel, is expected to dump as much as 18-24 inches of snow along the I-95 corridor through Thursday.

Those headed to the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., this week can also expect snow on Wednesday.
