Trucking Social Media Convention 2012The folks with the Truck Driver Social Media Convention are gearing up for their second annual meeting — and have been sharing highlights of the two-day program in process for Oct. 27-28 in Kansas City via the AsktheTrucker.com blog.

Among the presenters this year will be Elaine Papp, Division Chief of the FMCSA’s  Office of Medical Programs. Got a question relative to driver medical qualifications / FMCSA’s plans to regulate the sleep apnea condition? Given the large amount of back and forth among presenters and attendees we saw at last year’s event in Tunica, Miss., there’s a high likelihood this will be your best chance to ask that question to Papp directly.

Also, returning this year will be Minnesota-based employment law attorney Paul Taylor, who commonly represents drivers in cases stemming from Surface Transportation Assistance Act protections against company retaliation for refusals to operate unsafely. His presentation this past year ran through many of those protections. Read more about him via this post on AsktheTrucker.com.

You can register to attend the meeting via this page for $99.
