Truckers bracing for Hurricane Joaquin can rest a little easier

Truckers running the East Coast can breathe a little easier today with widespread forecasts that show Hurricane Joaquin, currently slowly moving across the Bahamas, turning North-Northeast and not making landfall in the U.S.

At once, however, persistent rain expected over the Southeast (particularly South Carolina, North Carolina, North Georgia and Virginia) has the region under widespread flash flood watches and warnings that extend up the Atlantic coast, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Keep an eye on this page and an ear to local National Weather Service reports if you’re running the area through the weekend.
