The Dock411 app is a repository of shipper/receiver docking information for truckers that is curated by the company with an in-house team who knows what to look for — that team is made up of former truckers or other trucking pros, by and large, as Overdrive has reported in the past. That team looks for info about wait times, dock location on the facility, local directions, parking and restroom availability, photos, hazards, special procedures and up to 50 other attributes about shipper locations across North America.

Drivers can use the free mobile app to research their next stop before they leave and add their review once they arrive. Shippers use the app to publish up-to-the-minute information about their facilities to help avoid dock congestion, lost drivers, and long wait times.

Paris Cole, CEO of Truckstop.com, recently announced a new partnership with Dock411 that will help facilitate marketing for the young service, and Dock411, he added, would in future be integrated in the Truckstop.com freight marketplace/load board: “We are looking forward to the benefits they’ll bring customers.”

“We’ve worked hard to make Dock411 a great tool for the industry by listening to our users,” said Dock411 cofounder Dan Serewicz. “We’re excited about the opportunity to work with Truckstop.com to bring our service to a wider audience and about the future integration with the Truckstop.com load board.”

Shipper customers of Truckstop.com will be able to add facility information in the Dock411 system to create better transparency and help processes run smoothly for themselves and their carriers. By creating a listing on the Dock411 system, Truckstop.com’s shippers can take a quick and affordable next step to being a “shipper of choice” for drivers, the company says, pitching value to brokers as well. Clear and abundant dock information will allow them to better assist carriers to get freight moved faster and more efficiently, while also improving the efficiency of their shipper clients.
