I learned today that we are in a freight black hole. Learned when we waited all day for freight that did not come and then naming our circumstances with that term.
Diane and I woke up this morning in a retail area in Casa Grande, Ariz., in service and waiting for freight. Having gone too long without freight, we decided to wait until close of business today and if nothing came we would deadhead east. Nothing came so we headed east.
I began driving and Diane took over at her usual time. I worked on WordPress for a while in the sleeper and then went to bed. The truck was still rolling at midnight. Diane was feeling good and wanted to keep driving.
Short of waiting longer for an uncertain result, we have done everything we know how to do to get freight out of Arizona. We don’t like doing it but it seems that our best option is to chase freight by deadheading east.
