What are you thankful for?

It’s been a tough year, in all sorts of ways, for many. Rates have been lackluster on the spot market for much of it, on average. Some have fared well through it all, but others have struggled mightily. Rules and regulations have continued to be proposed, implemented and argued over, and ripple effects have been felt far and wide.

The Presidential election happened, with all of the accompanying debating and howling and fighting and B.S.

I’m thankful it’s over, finally.

I’m thankful, too, that freight moves, that truckers are moving it day-in, day-out in spite of all the challenges. I’m thankful for beautiful custom creations among the highway haulers, for well-preserved workhorses that just keep running and running, making money and gettin’ ‘er done.

I’m thankful for a family supporting me and colleagues who strive to deliver information and amplify your voices on the issues — and who keep me as a part of that effort.

I’m also quite thankful for the coffee bean and its stimulating properties, without which none of this would be possible.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday this week, nearing the end of this rough year, what are you thankful for? I’d like your answers — whether sincere and heartful or satirical, humorous or silly — to be a part of a podcast we’re putting together for next week: call 530-408-6423 to weigh in with a voice message.
