I know this may be too much excitement for one week, but there’s another “star studded” event coming up in Dallas, beginning tomorrow at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center – you might have heard about it once or twice, they call it GATS, and it may or may not have been mentioned a few times in Overdrive recently.
Bill Weaver, warming it up in Flippin.We were fortunate this year to be able to meet up with Bill and Carol Ann Weaver in their hometown of Flippin, Ark., to spend the night and roll into Dallas, caravan-style. It’s always fun hanging with these two. You never know when a guitar will be whipped out and some fine, impromptu music will be played.
Speaking of music – this show happens to have some of the best performers in the industry scheduled to appear. Also, Jayne Denham said she was excited to meet us, and I’m kind of over the moon about meeting her. Seeing Bill, Jayne and Tony Justice perform on Friday at the Uber party promises to be a highlight of the show. I hope I can manage to meet her and not be weird, like I was with Lee Greenwood earlier this year. Fingers crossed.
