CARB ‘sends message’ with enforcement blitz

Exhaust1California’s Air Resources Board throughout the month of August held a statewide inspection blitz in which it checked more than 4,000 trucks for compliance with its anti-pollution laws, including checking trucks of certain year models for diesel soot filters — a California law. CARB concluded that it sent a “message to truckers” about complying with its pollution laws and called the blitz “a huge success.”

817 citations were given during the month-long campaign, which the state dubbed Gear Up for Clean Truck Month. Overdrive sister site CCJ has the full report on CARB’s crackdown, along with some upcoming compliance deadlines for truck owners and fleets. See the story here.
