Daimler Trucks, maker of Freightliner and Western Star; Volvo Trucks, maker of Volvo and Mack; and Navistar, maker of International, all released statements in recent months announcing their plan to skip the 2016 show.

Daimler and Volvo have also said they would like to see the show move to an every other year format. Daimler also says it will now only attend the show every other year. MATS organizers, however, say they show will remain an annual event.

“We remain hopeful that the other OEMs and suppliers will have a presence at the 2016 MATS and will see this as an opportunity to improve their locations, possibly increase their presence at MATS and take advantage of the absence of some of the other manufacturers,” said Toby Young, manager of MATS.
