Crete Carrier Corporation and Epes Transportation have been named 2014 Most Valuable Employer for Military by CivilianJobs.com.
The award is designed to help veterans and military-experienced job seekers find employers to target for their civilian careers.
This is the third year in a row Crete has been named an MVE. Crete says that nearly 30 percent of its employees were once in the military and has a program aimed at helping former military members transition into a different career. The carrier also has a special fleet of military-theme tractors, the Patriot Fleet, and chooses five veterans to drive the trucks.
Epes likewise received the award in part for its transition program.
Civilianjobs.com says winners are selected based on company responses to questions on recruiting, training and retention programs for military service members.
The awards are open to all U.S.-based companies.
