Daimler’s RunSmart wins award

Daimler Trucks North America’s new RunSmart predictive Cruise system won the best Service and Application for Commercial Vehicles Award by Telematics Update. Developed by Daimler with digital map data from NAVTEQ, the computer system evaluates the upcoming road profile more than one mile in advance using GPS and ADAS attributes in the NAVTEQ map. The system adjusts the actual speed of the truck for maximum fuel efficiency based on terrain, the company says.
