Smartphone- and tablet-based electronic logging device provider Ezlogz has added Ethereum blockchain functionality to its app, the company says, which allows owner-operators to securely and transparently handle certain transactions via the app and ensures tamper-free ELD data, the company says.
Blockchain tech creates a secure and unchangeable ledger of transactions between parties, such as carriers and brokers. Relative to ELD functionality, it secures ELD data from being altered, the company says.
The blockchain capabilities also allow owner-operators to enter into secure and immutable contracts with brokers, Ezlogz says.
In addition to a compliant ELD system, the Ezlogz app offers GPS mapping, IFTA reporting, an officer inspection mode, weather reports, diesel pricing and more.
It also offers an internal social platform, allowing drivers to post updates, chat with individuals or in groups and send live voice messages via a push-to-talk feature, stylized as a CB microphone.
The app is available on both iOS and Android.
