Fleetmaster boosts driver pay

Fleetmaster Express announced a pay increase for its road drivers of more than 10 percent, as well as a pay hike for all other drivers. The company said the new pay package – along with its recent enhancements to its detention pay, holiday and vacation pay and 401(k) programs – are examples of its ongoing commitment to improving driver benefits while providing a friendly family-oriented work environment.

β€œOur driver pay has just increased by more than 10 percent, which is very exciting, and starting in March, we’ll be adding even more value to our benefits package,” said Travis Smith, chief operating officer of the Roanoke, Va.-based company.

Fleetmaster said drivers can expect 100 percent no-touch and no hazmat freight, weekly settlements and quality home time. The company also provides drivers with a bonus plan incentive and bonuses for driver referrals and clean U.S. Department of Transportation inspections. Other benefits include an array of medical, life and disability insurance program options.

Fleetmaster operates more than 300 trucks and 1,400 trailers and serves customers from 13 terminals, offering over-the-road, local and dedicated hauling as well as freight brokerage, warehousing and spotting services.
