Illinois DOT suspends HOS rules for petroleum haulers

Petroleum haulers are exempt from Illinois’ hours of service regulations until 11:59 p.m. Feb. 7, or until bad weather has subsided, the Illinois Department of Transportation said Monday. The lift was declared due to increased fuel demands as a result of severe weather in the Midwest. An extension is possible, if conditions exists, IDOT says.
