Landstar noted, owner-operators honored
Landstar Logistics and Landstar Ranger earned 2001 Quest for Quality awards from Logistics Management & Distribution Report.
Landstar honored owner-operators and their families during Landstar Appreciation Days. The five-day event featured safety meetings, a truck beauty contest and the Landstar National Safe Truck Driving Championship. Safe drivers were recognized: 35 for 1 million miles, four for 2 million miles and one for 3 million miles.

CFI, Joplin, Mo., announced its September awards: Eduardo Velarde, Company Driver of the Month; Stacy and Donna Moran, Company Team of the Month; John Newkirk, Contract Driver of the Month; and Craig Brandon and Idona Bailey, Contractor Team of the Month.
Sitton, Joplin, Mo., selected Eric Carr as Driver of the Month for July. Carr received a $150 savings bond.
Roadway, Akron, Ohio, received the 2001 Nicholson Award for best annual report in the trucking/transportation industry. The Nicholson Awards for clear, readable annual reports are sponsored by the National Association of Investors Corp.
KLLM, Richland, Miss., inducted five drivers into the Chairman’s Fleet and 17 drivers into the President’s Fleet at the company’s annual Million Mile Awards Dinner.
