Kenworth wins environmental award

Seattle-based Kenworth Truck Co. is one of 50 companies in Washington that Seattle Business magazine honored for reducing carbon emissions or improving the environment.
The magazine’s Green Washington Awards include recognition of companies, government agencies and nonprofit outreach groups.
The truck maker received the award for its aerodynamic trucks, compressed and liquefied natural gas trucks, medium duty diesel-electric hybrids and low-emission PACCAR MX, PACCAR PX-8 and PACCAR PX-6 diesel engines. Kenworth’s efforts to make their Class 8 truck production buildings energy efficient were recognized also.
