Weight loss documentary

Updated Apr 22, 2013

FatsicknearlydeadThe 2010 health documentary “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” tackles the question of healthy eating a bit differently than films in the past have. Instead of making the audience afraid of things like Super-Sized meals, “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” follows two men on a mission to lose weight and try to survive.

Australian Joe Cross has come to America to spread the message about a dieting strategy he uses to lose around 100 pounds, a strategy called “juicing.” During his travels, he meets Iowa trucker Phil Staples, who starts off weighing over 400 pounds and is in serious danger of losing his life.

The movie runs at about an hour and 40 minutes and can be viewed on Netflix or for free at www.jointhereboot.com.
