Missouri urges truckers to bypass Joplin

Socket is providing free Internet and technical support to Joplin area residents and businesses affected by the tornado damage. People can dial in to Socket’s with any username and password if using the local Joplin dial-up modem number, which is (417) 206-9992. Tide detergent, in partnership with Frigidaire and the American Red Cross, will provide Loads of Hope May 26-30 at the Joplin Wal-Mart, 2623 W. 7th St. Loads of Hope is offered free in disaster areas and can wash as many as 300 loads for affected families, which includes drying and folding clothes.

All travelers are advised to visit the MoDOT Traveler Information Map at www.modot.org/ for up-to-date road closure information.
