VIPs elected to Trucker Buddy board

Randall-Reilly Publishing Co. CEO Mike Reilly and Newport Communications Group President Kate Miller have been elected to Trucker Buddy’s board of directors. The two bring a wide range of experience and industry knowledge to help Trucker Buddy move forward in the future, says the nonprofit’s executive director Randy Scwartenberg.

Mike Reilly, who also serves as Randall-Reilly’s chair and president, oversees the Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based media company, which serves the trucking and construction markets.  It produces trucking related magazines Overdrive, CCJ, Truckers News, Custom Rigs and the website eTrucker.com, among other media products.

As Newport’s president and group publisher, Miller is responsible for Heavy Duty Trucking, Heavy Duty Aftermarket Journal and RoadStar magazines, as well as the website Truckinginfo.com. The company includes custom publishing services and other industry media offerings.

Trucker Buddy International, an independent non-profit organization, helps to educate and mentor schoolchildren via a pen pal relationship between professional truck drivers and children in grades two through eight as supervised by their teachers. Since 1992, Trucker Buddy International has helped educate more than 1 million schoolchildren.
