WOLF MAN
When Rene Mineault of Quebec, went into the towing business in 1990, he wanted a truck that reminded him of the days when he hauled produce and beef across the
United States and Canada for 23 years. So when he found his 1984 Peterbilt 359, it was love at first sight. This big Pete, named Lone Wolf, has a 400-hp Caterpillar, dual 6-inch chrome stacks and a stainless steel air deflector wing on the sleeper. Mineault’s wife, Louise, says she sands, paints and polishes Lone Wolf and even scrubs it with a toothbrush to keep it shining. Though Mineault uses the truck now mainly for towing, he hopes to go back on long hauls one day.
SWAN DRIVE
Blake Wurmnest of Heyworth, Ill., says his 1995 Peterbilt 378 was nicknamed Chicken Truck after he put a swan on the front of his hood. But Wurmnest hauls mostly construction materials, not poultry, in and out of central Illinois. Chicken Truck has a CD player, a complete chromed inside with a wood steering wheel and armrests, and an M11 Cummins. Wurmnest has 830,000 miles on his truck.
