NTBS asks for crash avoidance tech mandate

| November 15, 2012

In its annual “Most Wanted List” for 2013, the National Transportation Safety Board says it wants to see collision-mitigation and crash avoidance technology become standard equipment on all Class 8 tractors, among six other trucking-related wishes, including eliminating distractions for drivers and reducing substance-impaired driving.

See Overdrive sister site CCJ‘s report for the complete list.

NTBS is an independent federal agency that intends to promote safety in all modes of transportation by studying causes of accidents.

Because you know who is training so many new drivers, there is no way we can hold them resposible, so let us pass laws to require a truck to drive it’s self. No we don’t care how much it cost, as long as it is in the name of Safety. Not to mention we can put all of these outlaws out of business and just have one big company called CR England-CRST World Wide.

NTSB, is just another goverment agency that can’t justify their existance unless they come up with garbage like this.

When you are paying a half a million bucks for a truck, just remember you could have taken a short cut and paid experinced drivers.
Oh I’m sorry, I should have never brought common sense in to this.
