Randall buys trucking magazines

| August 01, 2001

Randall Publishing Co., publisher of Overdrive, purchased four publications, including Owner Operator.

The Alabama-based company also bought Commercial Carrier Journal, RPM and Automotive Industries. Cahners Business Information sold the magazines for an undisclosed amount in March.

Randall also publishes Truckers News and Trucking Co., and produces eTrucker.net. “Our goal is to completely submerge ourselves into each area we work for – trucking, construction and industrial – and give our customers the information they need from all outlets available,” says Mike Reilly, Randall’s president and chief operating officer.

Owner Operator, a business magazine for independent truckers and small fleet owners, has been merged into Overdrive. Commercial Carrier Journal carries information for executives who manage private, for-hire, utility and specialty fleets.

RPM magazine offers news and features for owner-operators, company drivers and small fleet owners. Automotive Industries serves the domestic and international original equipment market.
