Recall issued for some 2010-2012 model Kenworths

Updated Aug 8, 2013

Paccar has issued a recall for 2010-2012 Kenworth model T4 and W9 trucks built between Nov. 13, 2009 and Aug. 26, 2011 for an issue that could lead to a vehicle fire, according to recall announcement issued by the company.

In the affected trucks, the alternator wiring can come into contact with the exhaust manifold, which could cause the wiring to melt and cause a vehicle fire.

Paccar is in the process of notifying owners, it says, and Kenworth dealers can reroute the alternator wiring for free. The recall process is expected to begin later this month.

Owners may contact Paccar at 425-468-7400, and the recall number is 13 KWJ.
