Retired Trucker Wins $1 Million

Kevin Smith, a retired company driver, became the first million-dollar winner on daytime television’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” Feb. 18.

The $1 million question was “‘And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free’ is inscribed in the lobby of what agency’s headquarters?” He remembered the correct answer from the 1994 movie “True Lies” and answered “CIA.”

The 52-year-old Los Angeles resident originally appeared on the nighttime version of the show, hosted by Regis Philbin, before that show was canceled last June.
