Sharp-looking rigs

PRIDE & JOY
Jim and Leesa Loggains of Carthage, Mo., purchased their 1994 Kenworth W900L new, and Jim considers it a hobby to take good care of it. With a Caterpillar 3406E, a 15-speed transmission and 3.55 rears, the rig currently hauls cooling tower parts throughout Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma, but has ventured all over the country with loads of steel, aluminum and military freight.

RUSS’ OLD FLAME
Russell Perillo restored every inch of this 1976 Kenworth 900A, which has a 3406 Caterpillar engine, 13-speed transmission and 44 rears. This classic beauty, which won trophies last year from the Great American Trucking Show and this year from the Mid-America Trucking Show, has several unique touches: flames above the grill, phosphorescent flames behind the grill that glow in the dark, flames painted on the mud flaps and an iridescent polyurethane clear coat that sparkles in the sunlight. Russ has decided to quit trucking, so his Old Flame is ready for another suitor.
