Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse and Alcoa Home Exteriors recently recognized Joplin, Mo.-based Sitton Motor Lines with their top awards for on-time deliveries. Sitton received Lowe’s Gold Carrier Award and Alcoa’s Exceptional Carrier Award for 2002.

Sitton was one of 17 carriers recognized by Alcoa for an on-time performance rating of 99 percent or greater. Sitton was among six of those honored who had achieved the Exceptional Carrier award for two consecutive years.

The Lowe’s 2002 Gold Carrier Award was Sitton’s fourth award from the national home improvement retailer. Sitton was previously awarded the 1997 and 1998 Carrier of the Year Award, as well as the Lowe’s Gold Team award in 2000.

Third Top Driver Honor
Sitton Motor Lines recently awarded owner-operator Robert I. Morris of Lotawana, Mo., with its Driver of the Month award for December 2002.

This is not the first award he has received from Sitton. In November 2000, Morris was awarded his first Driver of the Month award. He also received the company’s Driver of the Year award for 2000.

Morris was selected to receive the Driver of the Month award because of his high rating in accidents, work-related injuries, cargo claims, moving violations, DOT inspections, service failures, customer and motorist comments, log violations, miles driven, fuel economy, maintenance, payroll and operations.

Sitton also honored three drivers with the Million Mile Award. Company driver Vicki Price of El Dorado Springs, Mo., who drives with her husband Ray, reached 1 million miles in December. She and her husband have also received a Driver of the Month award and the 2001 Driver of the Year award as a team. Price has been driving with Sitton for 12 years.

Company driver David Walke of Niangua, Mo., reached the million-mile mark in December. Walke has been driving for Sitton since 1991. Robert “Ken” Anthony of Merkel, Texas, achieved the milestone late last year. He has been a contract driver for Sitton for more than nine years.
