Sleek Fleet LLC launched its web- and mobile-enabled brokerage, designed to directly connect owner-operators with shipper customers’ loads.

Initially beta testing its matching platform technology in the Midwest, the company continues to expand its network of independent owner-operators and shippers. The system is designed, the company says, to ensure that there are no large carriers, brokers or under-qualified drivers as part of the Sleek Fleet network.

Upon being verified, drivers can log in to the interface, choose from actual loads based on location and equipment, and submit bids. Drivers learn immediately if a bid was successful and are paid the exact bid amount, plus standardized accessorials, within four hours of proper paperwork submission upon delivery.Upon being verified, drivers can log in to the interface, choose from actual loads based on location and equipment, and submit bids. Shippers pay a flat, transparent percentage to cover the costs of the technology, administration and accounting, the company says. Owner-operators are not charged a fee to utilize the company’s mobile app, though which they’ll receive notifications about load availability.

While freight is still limited, the company says, it’s encouraging operators to register and to pre-qualify, to “ensure that we only have owner-operators in the system, which also allows us to target partner shipper freight that matches the driver’s preferred area.”

So far, carrier partners have been van and refrigerated carriers, but Sleek Fleet says flatbed capabilities can be supported as well.
