Trucker handled crash as a pro

At 9:15 a.m. Jan. 11, I saw a fatal accident involving an eastbound car that crossed the median and hit a westbound tanker on I-20 at mile marker 104, west of Madison, Ga. The car’s occupants died.

The car struck the driver’s side rear trailer tandem, knocking it completely off the tank. The back of the tank rose about 15 feet off the ground and the driver did a fantastic job of getting his rig stopped and safely off the road. I congratulate him on his driving skills.

My prayers go to the driver, his family and to the families of the deceased.
