News roundup, Oct. 24: New Love’s in Montana, Alabama; I-29 closure in southwest Iowa; TruckPro distributor bought by equity firm
Love’s opened new travel stops in Missoula, Montana, and Eutaw, Alabama. Iowa DOT says I-29 northbound is closed between exit 55 (North 25th Street) and Iowa Highway 192, which is about a 1-mile stretch. Plantinum Equity acquires TruckPro independent distributor.

Remembering Bob Walser of Bill’s Truck Stop, Linwood, N.C.
Robert Eugene “Bob” Walser Sr., 86, of Linwood, N.C., well-known for his generosity to drivers, passed Saturday. Walser owned and operated Bill’s Truck Stop at I-85 exit 86, for 60 years. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, at Churchland Baptist Church in Linwood.

Love’s opens new locations in Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania
The new Michigan store is located in Bridgeport off of I-75 at exit 144 and offers 87 truck parking spaces. In Illinois, the new Love’s is in Hampshire near I-90 and U.S. 20 and offers 177 truck parking spaces. The new Pennsylvania store is in Slippery Rock off of I-79 at exit 105 and offers 48 truck parking spaces.
