Trucker charged with vehicular homicide in fiery crash on I-70 near Denver; interstate closed in both directions
According to Ty Countryman with the Lakewood (Colorado) Police Department, 23-year-old Texas-based truck driver Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos was traveling eastbound on I-70 and lost control of his truck before coming up on backed-up traffic.

Colorado DOT to study allowing hazmat trucks to travel through I-70’s Eisenhower Tunnel
Currently, trucks hauling hazmat are banned from using the tunnel and must use Loveland Pass (U.S. Highway 6). A new Colorado law requires CDOT to study the feasibility of allowing hazmat transportation through the tunnel and to report on whether, and under what conditions, hazmat through the tunnel should be allowed.

I-75 SB bridge over I-24 near Chattanooga reduced to one lane after partial collapse
TDOT Chief Engineer Paul Degges said in a press conference that an early investigation of the collapse appears to point to an overdimensional load striking the bottom of the bridge and cutting some of the steel reinforcing strands in the beam that eventually collapsed.

I-10 Eastbound in Phoenix to close this weekend for construction project
The interstate will be closed between 9 p.m. Friday, March 22, and 8 p.m. Saturday, March 23, between 67th and 51st avenues. The closure will allow crews to remove a 90-foot-long steel beam above I-10 that temporarily supported the future HOV flyover bridge on the South Mountain Freeway interchange.

The Illinois and Iowa departments of transportation say that, beginning Monday, March 18, construction of the new I-74 Mississippi River Bridge will require all westbound interstate through-traffic to be detoured to I-80 and I-280.

Sinkhole on I-20 EB near Van, Texas, to shut down interstate for 2-3 days
The Van Fire Department in a Facebook post says the department first received reports of the sinkhole Monday afternoon around 3:40 p.m. A local news report from KLTV says Texas DOT officials expect repairs to have the interstate closed for two to three days.

More than 2,000 truckers cited for driving on restricted Pennsylvania roads this year
Roads were restricted for winter conditions on Jan. 19-20, Feb. 12 and March 3. A citation for failing to observe travel restrictions during a state of emergency carriers a $300 fine, plus court costs. If each of the drivers written citations is required to pay the fine, Pennsylvania will collect $619,500 in fines.

Several I-435/I-70 interchange ramps in Kansas City to close through 2020
The construction project, which will replace the bridges in the interchange, remove left exits and more, will begin Thursday, March 7 with various lane closures to set up detour signs and other equipment for the project. The ramp closures will begin Monday, March 11.
