Less-than-terror in Tonopah, Nev.: The Clown Motel
Originally opened in 1990 by Leroy David, the Clown Motel served as a place for him to keep his clown collection â which he just happened to have purchased from a retired clown in Las Vegas. He built it next to the town cemetery, where his father is buried, along with a lot of other victims of a mine fire in 1911. Leroy sold the place to Bob Perchetti in 1995, and Bob not only kept the theme intact, he has more than tripled the size of the collection during his tenure.
