Truckers using phone-based ELDs can change duty status away from truck, FMCSA says
FMCSA will, at least for five years, allow drivers using mobile device-based ELDs (those run on a phone or tablet) to change duty status outside of and away from their vehicle. Such changes in duty status will need to be annotated, the agency says.

UPS buying freight broker Coyote Logistics in $1.8 billion deal
Founded in 2006, full-truckload brokerage Coyote Logistics reported annual revenue of $2.1 billion in 2014. Closing of the deal to buy the company, UPS says, is expected within 30 days, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
